Music Evolution is the second and final album from Buckshot Lefonque, the all star jazz hip hop R and B fusion project led by Branford Marsalis. Named after a Cannonball Adderley pseudonym, the group blended live jazz performance with hip hop production, spoken word and contemporary R and B in a way that was ahead of its time. The album reached number 8 on the Billboard Contemporary Jazz chart and features appearances from Guru, Laurence Fishburne and David Sanborn. Music Evolution includes the UK charting single Another Day and showcases Marsalis embracing genre fusion with energy, creativity and joy.
