Whirlpool is the influential 1991 debut album by Chapterhouse, a British band central to the emerging shoegaze movement alongside Lush Ride and Slowdive. Unlike many of their contemporaries, Chapterhouse incorporated structures inspired by electronic music, creating dense yet uplifting grooves that set them apart. The album spent three weeks on the UK Albums Chart, peaking at number 23, and features the single Pearl with Rachel Goswell of Slowdive. Pitchfork later ranked Whirlpool at number 17 on its list of the fifty best shoegaze albums of all time. This edition is pressed on black vinyl and includes an insert.
