Imagination Lady is the fifth studio album by Chicken Shack, released in 1972. Led by guitarist and vocalist Stan Webb, the band’s lineup for this record features John Glascock on bass, who would later join Jethro Tull, and Paul Hancox on drums. The album blends Webb originals with carefully selected covers, opening with a powerful rendition of B.B. King’s Crying Won’t Help You Now. The trio delivers a gritty, English blues sound reminiscent of early Fleetwood Mac or the heavier moments of Cream. Daughter Of The Hillside stands out as Webb’s strongest contribution, showcasing tight trio interplay and a driving rock edge. The closing track, The Loser, adds a more upbeat, almost pop‑leaning feel, highlighting the versatility of this lineup.
