Priest = Aura is the eighth studio album by Australian alternative rock band The Church. The title came from Steve Kilbey’s misreading of a Spanish fan’s vocabulary notes, and the album marked the arrival of drummer Jay Dee Daugherty, known for his work with Patti Smith. His presence added a fresh, jazz‑inflected feel to the band’s sound. Influenced by psychedelic rock and dream pop, the album features key tracks including Dome, Ripple and Feel, and is widely regarded by both the band and fans as one of their artistic high points.
