Black Market Gardening is the third full‑length album from Fila Brazillia, the singular Hull‑born collaboration between Steve Cobby and David McSherry. Known for bending and breaking genre rules, the duo blend deep house, downtempo, breaks, ambient textures and sly humour, sampling freely and blurring the line between live instrumentation and studio experimentation. Since their debut in 1990, they have released numerous singles, seven acclaimed albums and over sixty remixes for artists including Radiohead, Busta Rhymes and Lamb.  
This album marks a creative high point, guiding the listener through hazy trip hop, cosmic synth lines, brisk breakbeats, funky guitar riffs and touches of drum and bass. Their boundless creativity places the record firmly within the UK chill‑out tradition of the era while remaining timeless. This 30th anniversary edition marks the first vinyl release since 2001.
