Reggae Charm is the 1970 album by Jamaican singer, producer and multi‑instrumentalist Lloyd Charmers, born Lloyd Tyrell. Active across every major era of Jamaican music — from late‑’50s shuffle R&B and ska, through rocksteady and into early roots reggae — Charmers built a reputation as one of the island’s most versatile and inventive studio figures.
By the late ’60s he had become an accomplished pianist and bandleader, backing artists such as Ken Parker, Max Romeo, Pat Kelly, John Holt and Slim Smith & The Uniques, while also contributing as a vocalist.
On this album he is joined by Byron Lee & The Dragonaires, delivering a set that captures the raw, driving rhythms and soulful arrangements of vintage Jamaican studio craft.
