Performed by the original Broadway cast, led by Mandy Patinkin and Bernadette Peters, the recording captures Sondheim’s intricate, layered compositions — including standout numbers “Finishing the Hat”, “Move On”, and the iconic “Sunday”. Produced by Thomas Z. Shepard, the album won the Grammy Award for Best Cast Show Album.
