A shimmering artefact of the 1960s Los Angeles studio‑pop scene, Present Tense stands as one of the era’s most beloved cult classics. After writing for The Beach Boys and producing The Byrds, Gary Usher stepped into the studio to craft his own project—soon joined by Curt Boettcher of The Millennium, whose songwriting and production touch shaped much of the album’s distinctive sound.

With contributions from Bruce Johnston (The Beach Boys) and Glen Campbell, the record blends sunshine pop, baroque arrangements and psychedelic textures into a uniquely ambitious studio creation. Its standout single “My World Fell Down” even brushed the Billboard Hot 100, helping cement the album’s enduring reputation. Decades later, its inclusion on the iconic Nuggets compilation only deepened its cult status.

This 2026 reissue is pressed on 180g orange coloured vinyl, housed in a deluxe linen‑laminate sleeve, and limited to 1000 individually numbered copies.
